Therapy
Therapy can help children, adolescents, and adults cope with a variety of stressors, from relatively minor relationship or adjustment issues to anxiety, depression, and grief. A therapist may help you or your child process difficult emotions, develop more positive coping skills, build social skills, or just provide a safe and confidential place to share thoughts and feelings and work through problems. Sessions can be offered in person or online.
Beginning 9/1/2024 therapy sessions will be offered online only.
Individual sessions typically last approximately 50 minutes, although this may vary depending on a child's age and challenges. In all sessions, therapy techniques are individualized for the person and situation, and for children are adapted to your child's development and areas of concern.. Techniques may include play therapy, psychoeducation, short-term solution focused counseling, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, or other approaches that the counselor believes will support you or your child.
For couples therapy, we have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and fully believe in this model as the best intervention for strained relationships. For more information on couples therapy and/or EFT in particular, please use the contact link above..
